2010 - Present (8 years), Architect, Senior Associate

I have worked for major clients including St George, Berkeley, Countryside Properties, Taylor Wimpey and Wates Living. I have lead the team for St George’s Chelsea Creek development for over 3 years. HTA are Executive Architects for three residential blocks including the internal fitout packages for the high end £100m, 24 storey ‘Tower’ with £17.5m penthouse and adjacent block B mixed tenure homes. Block F is 148 units and is currently in construction with concurrent design changes being developed to address a rapidly changing market.

  • Project Architect for South Acton, Phase 1 for Countryside Properties. The project consisted of 167 units of houses and apartments up to 8 storeys around a central courtyard. The scheme was part of a 15 year regeneration plan for the Acton area with a CHP energy centre.

  • Project Architect for Phase 1 of the New Homes for Luton Program on behalf of Wates Living Space comprising large developments of flats and houses.

  • Project Architect for Taylor Wimpey’s Manor Way, 4 blocks of flats, houses and landscaping.

  • Technical consultant for off-site prefabricated residential projects and for manufacturers.

  • Responsible for the initial BIM implementation and strategic role-out of Revit at HTA with the

    development of the Derbyshire House, an innovative CLT house in Islington.

2004 - 2009 (5 years), Senior Architect and Director

  • Ecobuild 2009, designed and constructed the Landark with St Gobain Group companies.

  • Ecobuild 2008, lead the construction of a 3 bedroom cut-away Ruralzed house manufactured

    off-site and re-assembled in 3 days working 24 hours with a consortium of major

    manufacturers.

  • Designed CoolvaultTM for RuralzedTM a 2008 Registered Design manufactured by Ibstock.

  • Project architect for the first commercial ‘code 6’ housing terrace at Upton, Northampton.

  • Lead the design development of the prefabricated Ruralzed housing system for over 4 years.

  • Provided sustainability and contextual study consultancy for Bordon’s Eco Town master plan.

  • Project architect and Contract administrator for Jubilee Wharf, Cornwall, a mixed use ZED.

  • Lectured and published articles on design and lead tours of Zedfactory’s ‘Bedzed’ village.

  • Worked with Bill Dunster to construct his prototype solar ‘Hope House’ between 92-95.

2002 - 2004 (1.5 years), Architect and specialist timber designer

  • Specialist designer for traditional and innovative timber homes and large span structures.

  • Hands-on traditional ‘green oak’ carpentry, grid shell construction and bespoke framing.

  • Project managed site works for prefabricated frames and procured materials.

  • Manufactured timber frames with the specialist carpentry teams in the GOCC workshops.

  • Provided consultancy on prefabricated structures and the use of wood in construction.

  • Collaborated with architects and engineers to help them develop their designs and ideas.

  • Produced specialist subcontract drawings, specifications and visualisations.

1997 – 2002 (5 years), Architect

  • Architect on Nottingham University’s £50m Jubilee Campus, the ‘World’s greenest campus’.

  • Lead key package designs for the Head Masters National Centre for School Leadership.

  • Architect on Hampshire County Cricket Club’s golf and nursery club and main pavilion club house cladding.

  • Worked on competitions for residential regeneration and a scheme for Kew Gardens.
    Developed an innovative ‘green’ breathing wall timber cassettes cladding system using Western Red Cedar cladding and joinery and recycled newspaper insulation.

  • Member of the Sustainable Forestry Programme 2002 British delegation to Canada.

  • Worked in the office model shop (the only architect allowed to do so at the time) developing cladding mockups and details.
